If you are bored with your guitar try an alternate guitar tuning.

Alternate guitar tunings can be difficult for beginners, but for more advanced players, trying an alternate tuning is a great way to completely change the sound and feel of your guitar.

There are basically two types of tuning. Relative tuning is a type of tuning that compares the sound of each string to the tuning of the strings next to it. Harmonic tuning is the second type of guitar tuning. Harmonic guitar tuning works in the same way, but instead of strumming the string, you tune it according to its harmonic that is on the fifth fret of the string you are tuning, and the seventh fret of the guitar next to it. Harmonic tuning requires a specially trained ear, but is generally much better than relative tuning.

The links below will explain more about guitar tuning and will even provide tools that will assist you in your guitar tuning.
